Decreased Rates of Alluvial Sediment Storage in the Coon Creek Basin, Wisconsin
Stanley W. Trimble 1999 Science v 285, p1244-1246

Trimble returns to Coon Creek Basin in Wisconsin, site of mid-20th century surveys of river morphology and sediment storage, and updates these surveys. He finds that upland erosion and stream sediment accretion have decreased in the last half of the 20th century and stream erosion (of previously deposited sediments) has increased. The net suspended sediment yield, measured at the mouth of Coon Creek, has scarcely changed, although the sediment budget of the basin is now very different.
