Jeffrey Weld March - April 2002 Journal of College Science Teaching v31 n6 p394-398
This article from the Journal of College Science Teaching describes one approach to evaluating students in a seminar-style science course. The exercise involves students in the design of the assessment instrument and defense of their own performance using the instrument, thereby taking students' performance evaluation to a level beyond simply measuring learning and teaching effectiveness but also to self-reflection and critique.
