Phenomena of pulsation tectonics related to the breakup of the eastern North American continental margin
Robert Sheridan 1983 Tectonophysics v94 p169-185
In this paper published in the journal Tectonophysics, Robert Sheridan proposes a theory of "pulsation tectonics" involving the cyclic eruption of plumes of hot mantle from the lowermost mantle to explain the association of a magnetic "quiet zone" in Jurassic-age Atlantic oceanic crust with a relatively high spreading rate during this time.
