Dr. Edwin Marte Zorrilla is an Instructional Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. in Engineering Education and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. With more than fifteen years of experience teaching engineering at both undergraduate and graduate levels—primarily in the Dominican Republic and the United States—he brings a globally informed and comprehensive perspective to engineering education. His expertise has been further enriched through professional training experiences in Mexico, Brazil, and Italy.

Dr. Marte Zorrilla is deeply committed to creating innovative, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. His teaching emphasizes experiential learning, real-world applications, and culturally responsive pedagogies that promote problem-solving, initiative, and the effective use of advanced computational tools to enhance educational outcomes. In recognition of his contributions to engineering education and classroom innovation, he received the 2024 IEEE ASEE Frontiers in Education (FIE) New Faculty Fellows Award.
