template for Excel lesson

I will absolutely continue teaching my students about Excel and Image J. I have attached my reflections on the Excel lesson that I did with my students (and am continuing to do).

See you in April!

Jody

Hello Jody

Notice ... the three of six responders to Online 4 are from our 4 person ImageJ group. We rock!

I appreciated you on-line sources and I have added them to my bookmarks (favorites). I am a NASA Star Partner and must document 20 hours per year with them to remain in good standing and I submitted our "Lost in the Ozone" project (giving you credit as a collaborator, of course).

A lot of my students are using Excel. They learned some of it in Grade 6. We have a "laptop program" so half my students have it on their own machines in class every day.

I am glad to see you are keeping the faith with Pluto. Your sources list Pluto as a planet. My students are angry that Pluto has officially been demoted.

I am looking forward to our reunion net month.

Jody,
I notice that time is an issue with you also. I found that the lessons take so much time I have to borrow from other lessons. So far, I have not experienced any problems with administration but I am not sure if I will cover all of the content I need to. How do you handle the time issue?

Hi Mary. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner! My teaching partner and I are going to spend some time revisiting the scope and sequence of our earth science curriculum this summer. I feel that I'm always pressed for time and I wonder if we're covering too much. Also, for next year, I plan on utilizing the technology/computer teacher and his 8th grade classes more, perhaps they could do some of these lessons there as well. I'm not sure if this answered your questions, but these are my thoughts.

J-
