Introductin to Image J

I have been introducing sixth graders to Image J using the Mona Lisa activity. I am working on a lesson plan that will use Image J and Google Earth images of local area. When I complete it I will post it.

I would like to develop a lesson with Image J for measuring Glacier melting. I look forward to seeing your instructions. Do you remember Images of Glciers presented during classes? How long do you feel your lesson will take?

I used the Mona Lisa activity developed by others and previously posted, with just a few edits I threw in, and it worked really well for sixth graders to learn the basics of Image J. In particular, they loved the stack and animation part of the lesson. We then used the skills to analyze areas around Mt. Pinatubo for changes in mudflow (lahars).

Hello Diane and Johanna,

We are just starting weathering and erosion. You both have inspired me to use ImageJ to study changes due to erosion!

Thanks,

MaryAnn
