Eruptions of Mt. Pinatubo

Here is my idea for a lesson plan. It's still a work in progress.

The two images seem very similar. When you zoom in is there a noticeable change? Did you find other similar photos of earthquake impacts? I will start my earth science unit in Feb. and I'm trying to get an investigation organized using earthquake data and GIS, but if there are good volcano images I could also do some work with image J. Thanks for any help.

The amount of mudflow from the volcano is different (grey areas). Using IMage J, you can find the area of the mudflows using the threshold function and see the difference.
