I implemented my Excel activity and I thought it went very well. Since then I have done two follow up activities to keep them fresh. The first was a modification of Peter's CSI activity. The second was an enrichment activity for a Problem of the Week that they started by hand and used Excel to extend. It was actually their idea to use Excel for the Problem of the Week, so they recognized the power of Excel to continue a pattern once they had it started. I was impressed by this. Amy and I are doing our big Image J/Excel activity in science in two weeks and I think math activities really got them ready for it. My write up is attached.

Hi Tracy,
How exciting to hear it was the kids idea to use Excel for the Problem of the Week! Do you have an example of the graphs students made?
Thanks,---Carla

Hi Tracy,
What planet data did you use with Excel? My science classes are studying astronomy right now and one of the standards is to compare objects in the colar system (like other planets) to Earth. I was wondering what data you used, so that I could maybe do a similar lesson??? Also, we have the same problems with no being able to get into the computer lab frequently. Even though we have two labs, it is very hard to get into the labs unless you plan a month or more in advance. Thanks, Christine

Christine-
The planet data is attached to my investigation plan at the other part of this website, if you want to look at it.
