Provide a one or two -sentence description of the activity. Include the data used and the analysis tool.

(Example: I used ImageJ to demonstrate its capacity to make an animation. I used previously downloaded GOES images that showed a recent storm.)

Students used digital cameras to find and photograph circles in everyday life. We then downloaded the pictures onto our laptops. The Image J program was introduced and students opened pictures and measured both the diameters and circumferences of their circles. Information was then entered into a table.

Comments (Optional):
(Example: This introduced ImageJ and got students interested in one of the functions of the software. They will use ImageJ for the first time in the computer lab next week.

_Most students are comfortable using digital cameras. They really enjoyed the search for circles. I took the introduction of Image J slowly so that they could follow and hopefully use this program to explore the relationship that the circumference and diameter of a circle have.
