View Original Image at Full Size

Integrative learning can occur in multiple ways throughout a student's career. Within a single discipline, sequentially ordered courses can build upon skills and knowledge from previous courses. Interdisciplinary courses inherently encourage integration of knowledge and ways of knowing. Disciplinary courses can also intentionally require integration of knowledge from other disciplines. Internships (industrial, community and research) also provide opportunities to integrate knowledge and skills.
