Awuna geothermal gradient

View Original Image at Full Size

Borehole temperatures from the Awuna site in Alaska (blue dots) show a pronounced kink in the geothermal gradient consistent with a recent (last few decades) heating of >2 °C. The dashed gray line shows what the geothermal gradient would look like in the absence of this warming. Data available at http://gec.cr.usgs.gov/data/bht_alaska/sites/AWUN/AWUN_84JUL29.log.
