Sediment yield is highly variable over an order of magnitude (1.5 to 16.7 × 10^4 t/yr) and in total, ca. 340 × 10^4 t of sediment were exported and trapped in the hydropower reservoir. As sediment yield is the product of sediment concentration and discharge, it exhibits greater variability than discharge because of varying sediment concentrations and variable sediment supply.
