A 1 cm cube has a surface area of 6 cm^2. When this cube is cut into 1 mm cubes the surface area increases to 60 cm^2. When the 1 cm cube is broken down into 1 nm cubes, the total surface area of the cubes is 6x10^7 cm^2.
