Figure 4.16: Sea Level Rise for Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida screenshot. Shows an example of the user interface and GIS-based map output. The image shows the actual extent of flooding in coastal Alabama as a result of Hurricane Katrina's Storm Surge. Although flooding and elevated sea level was temporary and lasted just a few days here, the level of damage it produced was significant and costly for both natural and human landscapes.
