Dr. Laura Kerber
Dr. Laura Kerber – Post Doctoral Researcher, Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique, Paris, France – Ancient volcanoes and planetary atmospheres.

TRANSCRIPT: "I’m Laura Kerber and I’m a post-doc at Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique. in Paris and I study volcanos on Mercury and Mars and on the Earth and I also study sort of the atmospheric effects of volcanoes. And in my post-doc I kind of branched into more atmospheric effects, climatic effects of volcanic gasses, following the distribution of explosive volcanic products in the atmosphere and on the surface of various bodies. I love what I do because I get to study volcanoes and if you know where all the volcanoes are on Earth, they’re very interesting places to visit. I think I became a geologist to begin with because I was a scientist, but I liked to be outside. I was originally an astronomer and geologist and I kind of compromised on the solar system so I was able to study something I could really put my hands on and see maybe through a telescope and hopefully some day visit, but then also far enough away that I was exploring sort of the frontiers of space."
