I have over 25 years of experience working in ecological restoration & environmental planning in private, government, and academic sectors. For seven years, I worked as a project manager and restoration specialist for large scale ecosystem restoration projects in the Chesapeake Bay for the US Army Corps of Engineers (6 years) and the District of Columbia's Watershed Protection Division (1.5 years).

My efforts in the Chesapeake Bay led me back to graduate school to address the numerous technical challenges facing large scale ecosystem restoration projects. I completed my PhD in environmental engineering as a NSF fellow in the Ecosystem Restoration through Interdisciplinary Exchange (ERIE) program at SUNY at Buffalo. My dissertation was focused on developing predictive tools and models for ecosystem restoration that link changes in ecosystem structure to specific ecological response.

I am currently working for Columbus State University as an assistant professor of hydrology. My research focuses on emerging field of ecohydrology.
