An integrated model for STEM teacher preparation: The value of a teaching cooperative educational experience

Research article evaluates an integrated model for STEM teacher preparation which incorporated science or mathematics content with pedagogical content knowledge in a classroom immersion program based in a local secondary school. STEM preservice teachers in the teaching cooperative model were more confident about teaching skills and content knowledge, and better prepared to work effectively with high-needs students than PSTs in traditional preparation program.
