Earth Exploration Toolbook Reviewer Feedback

The Goal of Earth Exploration Toolbook Chapters

EET chapters guide educators in the use of Earth system science tools and datasets. The chapters provide educators with enough experience and in-depth knowledge of these resources to facilitate their using them in other contexts, and to help their students use them to explore and investigate issues in Earth system science.

The Review and Development Process

Curriculum developers, content experts, and teachers review each EET chapter. After modifications based on the initial review, chapters are piloted in an EET Workshop and used by classroom teachers. Chapters are revised and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

EET Chapter Review

The purpose of this review is to determine if the chapter's instructions are clear and if the chapter provides sufficient pedagogical and content support for the tools and data utilized. Keep these questions in mind as you review the chapter:

  • Does the chapter function properly?
  • Is the technical and science content accurate and understandable?
  • Is the pedagogical support useful and sufficient?

Is the pedagogical support useful and sufficient?

Does the chapter function properly? Is the technical and science content accurate and understandable?

Describe any technical difficulties you experience while reviewing the chapter, such as broken links. Be specific and detailed in describing the issue(s). For example, you might tell us, "Inaccurate instructions are given in Part 3, Step 6. It should be Edit > Invert and not, File > Open > Invert." or "A screen shot would be helpful in Part 8, Step 2."

Please also consider the science content as you work through the chapter. Is it accurate and understandable? Are there places that are too difficult or that need more explanation?
