Background Information

I teach economics and statistics in the Department of Business and Economics at St. Louis Community College Meramec. I also serve as the Acting Curriculum Specialist for the district. As the curriculum specialist, I'm responsible for design and delivery of training for course and program development as well as related assessment activities.

Over the last two years, I have worked with STLCC Meramec librarians and English faculty to design cooperative learning activities to support writing activities in discipline-specific classes. I also facilitated the departmental assessment project including the design of math activities to reinforce needed math skills and to expand the use of math in the principles course.

With Miki Heyne, I continue to develop materials to teach economics to elementary school teachers.

I received my Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Tech in 1986.

I serve as a member of the campus Faculty Development Advisory Committee and the Economic Education Advisory Committee of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank. I participated in the AEA's Teaching Innovation Project.
