Grand Canyon elevation profiles

View Original Image at Full Size

Elevation profiles along the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon, as simulated by WILSIM-GC, using default values for canyon evolution. Sudden changes in elevation along the profile show the location of the knickpoint. Note that the vertical and horizontal scales use different units, creating a vertical exaggeration of approximately 300:1.
