Dots and numbers show locations and site numbers where OSL samples were collected. The majority of the fan area is 10-60 ka in age, with only a small portion 0-10 ka in age. While the contributing basin of this alluvial fan was heavily glaciated during the late Pleistocene, the same is not true for other LRR fans though they were formed at a similar time. This suggests that mechanisms besides just glaciers can create and move large amounts of sediment for deposition on fans.
