Figure 3: Part of the edge of the Øksfjordjøkelen plateau beyond that seen in Fig. 1. Here the ice has retreated from the plateau edge and left an exposed blockfield. A very small moraine has been left at the very edge of the plateau. (We called this ‘Devil’s Leap’ because one needed to be a bit of a dare-devil to go to the moraine – it is a long way down to the fjord from there!)
