Figure 2. Three different ways of connecting all points, i.e., spiral, explosive, and tree patterns. The tree pattern exhibits the smallest total energy expenditure among three. For example, assuming that each point receives rainfall amount of unity, no loss of rainfall, and the distance between any two adjacent nodes is also unity, we can calculate the total energy expenditure as (a) 32.9C, (b) 26C, and (c) 18.6C.
