The ELA is the line that marks the position where accumumltauon of snow and ice is equal to melting and it provides a quantitative measure of glaciation. The Jilong and Periche I glaciation occurred at ~ 24-38 ka, the Rongbuk and Periche II glaciation occurred at ~ 15-17 ka, and the Samdupo and Khumbu glaciation occurred at 2-7 ka.
