Figure 3: Ground Penetrating Radar profile of the slackwater terrace. Due to the high clay content of the surficial materials, the strongest reflector that could be seen was a silty layer at a depth of 3.3 m rather than the contact between the slackwater materials and the fluvial sands at the base.
