Gannet nesting New Zealand Gannets nest in large colonies like this one on the North Island of New Zealand. Though they are hard to see because of all the birds, the nests are positioned about one bird length from one another. Gannets also return to the same nesting ground year after year. The spacing of Maiasaura nests suggest they may have nested in a similar fashion.
