Exploring turtle brain anatomy using immunohistochemistry
Lead Researcher: Rachael Hannah, University of Alaska Anchorage
Internship Description
Red-Eared Slider turtle is able to stay alive with out oxygen for 5 weeks. This research project looks to explore the brain anatomy of turtles when they are in a normal environment and compare it to when the brain after it has been without oxygen to see if there are structural changes with lack of oxygen.
Nature of the Research Project
Basic Research, Wet Lab/Bench Research
