This page contains a listing of all archaeal (archaebacterial) lineages for which there is data/information in any of the NCBI databases (e.g. PubMed, GenBank). List entries are organized hierarchically by taxonomy (phylum to genus level), and each entry is a hyperlink. Following these links allows the user to telescope in on a particular taxonomic unit, with listings down to the species/strain level. On any page within the taxonomy database, the top listing provides a link to a page with detailed information, including the complete lineage, the genetic code utilized by organisms within the taxon, a table of data available (e.g. genome sequences, publications) for the taxon, and a bibliography. This is a good starting point for undergraduate or graduate students or teachers researching any archaeal taxon.
