This AVI video features thermal imaging of Montana's Black Mountain 2 Fire of 2003. Flames and smoke are visible as they reach high into the air, and it's possible to gauge the heat of the fire as it grows, with parts of the flames reaching temperatures in excess of 200°C. The thermal imaging technology offers a unique perspective on wildfires.
