This portal provides access to a large variety of paleontological information, including an interactive map and timeline that allow users to explore the history of life through geologic time in North America. There is also a fossil gallery that features a collection of images searchable by taxon and time, and an interactive map that provides access to famous fossil localities and assemblages. For educators, there is an extensive set of links to resources on fossil collecting and preparation methods, classroom activities, field guides, maps, and teacher guides, including a section about careers in paleontology. There are also links to museum collections, real and virtual exhibits, and fossil, paleobiology, and paleontology databases.
