Volcano!
http://www.geo-world.org/volcano/index.html

This site provides students with a basic introduction into volcanology. Topics include the relationship of volcanoes to plate tectonics, an interactive feature on methods of monitoring volcanoes and predicting eruptions, and a study of the 1997 eruption of the Soufriere Hills volcano on the island of Montserrat. This study includes a brief narrative of the eruption, which produced a deadly pyroclastic flow, and a slide show that illustrates the eruptive mechanism of this type of volcano. There is also a video of an eruption in 2004 of Stromboli, a volcano in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily. This clip is about two minutes in length.
