Early Spring: Unexpected Conditions
http://www.pulseplanet.com/archive/May03/2914.html

This two-minute sound segment discusses some problems due to global warming. The featured biologist thinks earlier springs at lower altitudes produce more snow at higher altitudes. Birds and other animals that migrate up the mountain, taking their clues from the early spring at lower altitudes, find unexpected conditions caused by the heavy snows at higher altitudes. This site is from an archive of a daily radio program called Pulse of the Planet, which provides its listeners with a portrait of Planet Earth, tracking the rhythms of nature, culture and science worldwide and blending interviews and extraordinary natural sound. The site also provides a written transcript of the broadcast.
