Eye in the Sky: Human Impact
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/eye/impact.html

These aerial photography and satellite images show in detail the results of laying waste to vast areas of forest and the harm done by poisons that humans have put into the water and air during the century and a half since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. The site shows the thinning in the earth's protective covering of atmospheric ozone that appears over the Antarctic along with toxic hazes that settle over major cities and once fertile areas of the planet that have become desert. The four sections at this site are floods and dams, ozone and pollution, deforestation and desertification, and overpopulation. Each section is further divided into four parts. Each part is introduced by a short video followed by a thumbnail photograph and text. The slide show is started by clicking on the thumbnail.
