These lecture notes discuss binary phase diagrams. Gibb's phase rule, phases, components, and degrees of freedom are defined. The notes also cover congruently melting binary systems, binary solid solution systems, incongruently melting binary systems, limited solid solution, and liquid immiscibility. Temperature vs. pressure and temperature vs. composition graphs help to illustrate the concepts discussed in these notes.
