http://www.agu.org/sci_soc/cowley.html

Stanley Cowley, University of Leicester

This article provides a general overview and introduction to the Earth's magnetosphere. It covers two different models of the magnetosphere: the Chapman-Ferraro model and Dungey's Open model. It also describes magnetic substorms, what the magnetosphere is made of, and how it formed. A small glossary of terms is included at the bottom of the page.
