The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) is an interagency committee intended to promote the coordinated dissemination and application of geospatial data through development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). This portal provides access to geographic data, maps, and online services through the Geospatial One-Stop Initiative or the NSDI Clearinghouse Network. There are also links to information on FGDC's standards for the development, sharing, and use of geospatial data, and information on metadata used to document geographic digital resources. Other materials include links to information on the NSDI framework, policy and planning, training, news and events, and grants to assist the geospatial data community through funding and other resources in implementing the components of the NSDI.
