Thomas Baker, KanGIS

The Student Data Mapper is part of the KanGIS project, which provides technical and pedagogical support for teachers and schools interested in using geotechnologies such as GIS, GPS, and remotely sensed data. The Student Data Mapper is a collaborative online GIS tool that allows users to create new projects, contribute data to projects currently underway, and make or view spreadsheets and maps - all online. The site provides easy instructions for individuals or teachers wishing to develop new projects for themselves or their students. It also features a listing of several current projects as well as a searchable database so that users may add data to existing projects. All data may be downloaded as a spreadsheet or viewed as a map.
