This resource, by the Bigelow Laboratory, provides an interactive media for teachers and students to study one of the world’s most biologically productive areas, the Gulf of Maine. From season to season, temperature, salinity and chlorophyll data have been collected from throughout the water column. On-line standards, based educational activities, invite exploration of these data to understand water column mixing and stratification, and the seasonal succession of phytoplankton species.
