A 3D geologic map is paired with a series of cross-sections to examine the geologic formations underlying San Francisco. The cross-sections include illustrations of faults and how they relate the surface as well as San Francisco's underlying structure. The maps were compiled as part of a USGS project to simulate the 1906 earthquake.
