This 39-page PDF presents the preliminary results of an intensive study of the spatial distribution of volatile organic compounds associated with over snow vehicular travel in Yellowstone National Park during February 2002. Ninety-six air samples were analyzed to determine the mixing ratios of some 95 volatile organic compounds. Based on GIS data that show the extent of over snow vehicle emissions, the findings indicate that two-stroke snowmobile engines appear to contribute large quantities of hydrocarbons to the airshed.
