The Gulf of Maine Ocean Observing System

This website provides real-time information on weather and oceanographic conditions in the Gulf of Maine, including hourly information collected by buoys and other ocean monitoring stations for marine operations. In addition to comprehensive weather and oceanographic forecasting, GoMOOS takes biological measurements of microscopic plant life to estimate phytoplankton and track harmful algae blooms as they occur. Numerous maps displaying oceanographic data are provided as well as access to historical data and archived maps.
