This digital atlas focuses on groundwater and related water resource issues in the High Plains aquifer in western and central Kansas. Groundwater resources are declining in a number of areas within this region. Each section of the report includes data and/or maps, a listing of the sources of the data used and analysis of the subject. Topics include changes in saturated thickness, water storage, water usage, recharge and sustainability. There is also supporting information on groundwater occurrence, flow and use, as well as a glossary.
