This report (in PDF format) provides a summary of Yellowstone's geothermal features, efforts to protect them and activities that threaten them. Topics discussed include a history of legislative efforts to protect geothermal resources, water rights in the neighboring states of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, and the potential effects of development of the park's geothermal features. There are also several recommendations for future research, monitoring, and protection of Yellowstone's geothermal resources.
