This document describes the controlled groundwater area that was established in Montana in 1994 to regulate groundwater development adjacent to Yellowstone National Park. This regulation is intended to preserve the natural hydrothermal features of Yellowstone Park, and includes permitting requirements and restrictions for groundwater development near the park as defined by an itemized list of drainage basin areas.
