The website is part of the Geo-Iceland field study, a geology field study program for high school students taking place in Keflavík, Iceland. This particular site provides a an overview of Southwest Iceland's geology including hotsprings and their inhabiting thermophiles, geysers, plate tectonics, volcanic activity, seismic activity, and use of geothermal energy.
