Assessing Learning in Off-Campus Study

June 25-26, 2012 | 177 N. State St., Suite 700, Chicago, IL

The workshop will begin with lunch at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 25, and will conclude after lunch on Tuesday, June 26. All expenses for the workshop will be covered by the Teagle Foundation grant.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

ACM will cover all travel expenses for this event. However, only airline reservations made through Foremost Travel & Tours will be covered, unless prior arrangements have been made with the ACM office. This policy saves both money and time; Foremost Travel obtains low-cost fares, bills the ACM office directly, and serves clients professionally and personally. Travelers are still able to select a convenient schedule and receive frequent flyer mileage but do not have to worry about reimbursement and payment.

To make your flight arrangements, contact Foremost Travel & Tours, toll-free at 1-800-225-7185 or via email at dan@foremosttravel.com, and speak or write to Dan Lindell. Dan admits he is more accessible via e-mail, since he is often on the phone. Please identify yourself as a participant in the ACM June LSA workshop; Dan has a list of people who will be contacting him.

Dan will check your options and, after consulting you, confirm your reservations. Tickets will be delivered electronically within 24 hours of confirming your reservation. Please consult the ACM office for more specific information about policy guidelines, refunds, and unused tickets or lost tickets. PLEASE NOTE: Airlines have tightened their policies regarding changes and unused tickets. In most cases, unused tickets have no value; keep this in mind as you make your reservation.

Finally, as you know, making travel plans in advance saves a substantial amount of money. If you do not contact Foremost Travel for airfare by June 11, you will need to make your own arrangements and pay for them. ACM will reimburse you the price of a 14-day advance ticket.

Mileage and Rental Cars: If you fly, ACM will reimburse you for mileage to drive to and from your departure airport and parking at the airport. If you drive your own car, ACM will pay for mileage at a rate of $0.555/mile.

If you will be driving more than 150 miles one way to the event, we require you to rent a car through the policies in effect at your home institution. You are responsible for making rental car reservations. If you rent a car, ACM will reimburse your home institution, or you, for actual rental costs plus gasoline (with receipts) or for mileage, following the billing formula that is used by your institution. We do not, however, pay for fill-ups through the rental company since their filling fees are much higher.

If you choose to drive your own car and your travel is more than 300 miles roundtrip, ACM will only reimburse you for a maximum of 300 miles.
