Marcia Schulmeister

Dr. Marcia Schulmeister is a Professor of Geology at Emporia State University, where she has served as department head and received the Ruth Schillinger Award in support of University Women.
She has mentored over 25 M.S. and B.S. thesis projects on hydrogeochemistry and water resources in the US, China and Thailand, while serving as a visiting professor with the Chinese Academy of Science, and a Fulbright Scholar at Khon Kaen University in Thailand. Through collaboration with the Thai government and the international environmental consulting industry, she helped establish Southeast Asia’s first large-scale, artificial groundwater storage and recovery system and introduced new technologies to the Southeast Asian environmental industry.
Dr. Schulmeister has served on advisory boards for The Kansas Water Research Institute, National Ground Water Association and Geological Society of America’s (GSA) Hydrogeology Division. She has chaired the GSA’s South-central section, co-hosting two annual conferences.
