1. Our map shows the Mega Earthquake in Chengdu, nearby earthquake events, aftershocks and their proximity to a convergent boundary.
2. We would like students explore changes in plate boundaries over time in respect to position and movement. Can a divergent boundary become a transform boundary? convergent?
3. GIS techniques can be used to show the power of databases and query. Students can explore and ask many questions and analyze and evaluate their findings.
4. Is there an increase frequency of earthquakes in the past 10 years? 100 years? as compared to the frequency say 100000 years ago.
