1. What does your map show? Please briefly describe it.
My map shows the recent devastating earthquake in Chengdu. It is represented as a large black dot. This map also shows the earthquakes that have occurred in the past near this mega-quake, and the fault lines located in the vicinity.
2. What GIS data are you interested in having your students investigate?
I am interested in having my students investigate the red tide blooms in the Gulf of Maine and how they spread south to our backyard.
3. What GIS analysis techniques are you considering using with students?
I am considering using the AEJEE software with my students as well as EXCEL. There is a possibility that we may use ImageJ.
4. What lingering questions (if any) do you have from today's workshop?
What is the best way to break this material down into chunks that a seventh grade student can get done in 45 minute blocks.
