1. This file is simply the introductory AEJEE worldmap with continents, states, plate boundaries. In addition in the foreground are the Add Event Theme window and the Earthquake Data window where I'm attempting to acquire the information to add to the image. The x, y coordinate fields are not available and I'm not certain why.
2. I hope to develop an exercise with students involving the reduction of continental glaciers and link it with an assessment of mean regional atmospheric temperatures, global warming. Was Al Gore right or not?
3. The exercise will involve students initially going through a preset demonstration of online data sets and how they can be incorporated into GIS.(ironically, where I'm hung up. Ultimately this will enable me to develop a glitch free activity?)Then I want students to choose one of several data sets I'll preview for suitability. They need thhis type of ownership of the activity. As I saw and Carla did during our examination of the recent chinese earthquake, I want students to create a visual summary of any association they find between glacial shrinkage and temperatures. In addition I'd like to get some specific data on atmospheric chemistry and investigate alignment there.
4.Obviously I need to improve my facility with using this technology. I need to learn of the types and range of data available to work with.

I will continue to ' redo' this second part of the last online class. I'm still puzzled as to why the data is unavailable. I should have about a week post surgery that I can use to focus on this activity.
